Drama Wins NVC East
The Niobrara Play Production cast and crew took there show, The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza on the road last week. On Tuesday, November 19, 2013 they performed at the East Niobrara Valley Conference Play Production Contest at CLearwater. The received two first place votes and one second place vote from the judges and were awarded the Championship Trophy. All three judges gave the play a superior rating. One judge gave them a perfect score. Several students were recognized for their individual performances. Trenton Guenther was chosen best overall actor for the second year in a row. Others receiving recognition were Cathryn Hanzlik, McKayla Eisenhauer, Shana LaPointe, Liam Key, Steven Lapointe, Larissa McCardle, Tanner Hrbek, Hannah Stark, and Cade Kalkowski.
On Wednesday, November 20th, the NHS thespians traveled to Creighton for the Creighton Play Production Festival. Although no ratings or rankings were given, they received very favorable comments from the judges and several students were recognized for their individual performance. They included Cathryn Hanzlik, McKayla Eisenhauer, Trenton Guenther, Liam Key, Steven LaPointe, Brittany Eisenhauer, Hannah Stark and Cade Kalkowski.
The cast and crew will travel to Stuart on Tuesday December 3rd to participate in the D-2 3 District Play Production Contest.
