2018 State FBLA Conference

FBLA State Leadership Conference

The 2018 State Leadership Conference for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) was held April 5-7 in Omaha at the Ramada Inn Conference Center.  11 Members for the Niobrara FBLA chapter attended the conference.  At the opening session Thursday afternoon, the Keynote Speaker was Patty Hendrickson who encouraged everyone to “elevate their future.” Also during the opening session, Niobrara advisor, Tami Heiser, was recognized for having been an advisor for 5 years.

The rest of Thursday and all day on Friday, students participated in several competitions and attended seminars.  Seminar topics included, “Find the Gain, Avoid the Drain,” “Who cares about social media?” “Sports Media: Entrepreneurship and Innovation,” “Healthy Choices on a Budget,” “College 101,” “How to Get Any Job You Want,” and “The Evolution of Sports Business – How Technology and Sports are Colliding for Big Opportunities.”

Students attended a dance Friday evening and awards ceremony on Saturday morning.  Students representing Niobrara School were; Seniors – Bryce Stark, Kendra Hrbek, and Isabal Rife; Juniors – Erika Kitto and Courtney Hrbek; Sophomore – Stran Fritz; and Freshmen – Emily Parks, Ashtyn Holz, Winona Ware, Morgan Torrez, and Cole Swanson.  Accompanying the chapter were their advisor Tami Heiser and chaperone Jenny Motacek.
