JV Football vs. Wausa September 25
The Niobrara-Verdigre Cougar JV football team was in action Monday night, September 25 in Verdigre taking on the Wausa Vikings. The young Cougars lost to Wausa 6-40.
The offense sputtered throughout the first half mounting some nice drives only to fizzle out in Viking territory. The defense allowed too many big plays. The lone Cougar score came on an Arlan Lammers 30 yard TD run (PAT failed). Halftime score… N-V 6 Wausa 32.
The defense was much stingier in the 2nd half allowing only one more Viking score. Again, the offense would march some drives down the field, but those drives ended in critical turnovers. The game ended N-V 6 Wausa 40.
The Cougars JV football team is at Randolph this Monday, Oct. 2 for a 6:00 pm game vs. the Cardinals. This will be the final JV football game of the 2023 season. GO COUGARS!!
