Mrs. Bourn, who dedicated 39 years to Niobrara Public Schools, continues to go above and beyond to give back to our students. Many of the students here today will remember her for her kindness and generosity, especially through the graduation baskets she makes for seniors each year.

And she has done it again! Mrs. Bourn recently made snap bags to be given as prizes to students who complete the monthly Family Connection letters sent home by Mrs. Messersmith. She wanted to make sure the students who completed the very first connection letter had a chance to receive one!

Each month, one boy and one girl who complete the Family Connection letter will be drawn to win a snap bag. 🎉

The Cross Country team had a phenomenal day at the Boyd County Invite! Unique medaled 13th, Mariah medaled 11th, and Delani medaled 1st in high school girls! Carson medaled 7th in high school boys and Tatum medaled 8th, Faith medaled 6th, Poppy medaled 5th, and Shaley medaled 4th in junior high girls!

The third and final book club met in the library today. Fourth graders are reading I Survived the Attacks of September 11, 2021. Some of them wouldn't even stop reading to take a picture!

The 4th grade class had a presentation on the importance of soybeans to Nebraska's economy. We learned so many fun facts and valuable information about soybeans, so quiz a 4th grader next time you see one!

2nd grade wrapped up a mini butterfly unit in science! We had 5 caterpillars and watched 4 out of the 5 turn into a chrysalis. Unfortunately they were ahead of schedule and all hatched over the long weekend but when we came back to school we had 4 butterflies! The students learned about the transformation process from caterpillar to butterfly and enjoyed watching them daily as they grew! We tried getting pictures of the release however the butterflies were to excited and ready to get out into their natural environment. It was a fun experience and we were sad to see them go!

Book Club number 2 met today. The sixth grade will be reading Night of the Twisters by Ivy Ruckman.

We have our first 100 book reader! Way to go Bo! Keep it up!!
