Jv Football vs. Randolph
The Niobrara-Verdigre Cougar JV football team concluded the 2023 season Monday night, Oct. 2 in Randolph with a 14-20 loss to the Randolph Cardinals.
The young Cougars played hard, but mistakes would be their demise… fumbles, penalties, & missed assignments. Offensively we would move the ball up and down the field only to have a fumble or turnover on downs halt the drive. However, Randolph would score both of their first half TD’s on 4th & goal plays. The first score of the game came on a 47 yard fumble recovery for TD by Arlan Lammers (PAT failed). Halftime score… N-V 6 Randolph 12.
The 2nd half was more of the same. Each team scored a TD in the half. N-V’s score came on a 1 yard TD run by Arlan Lammers (Kash Nielsen to Jacob Motacek PAT pass). The ensuing onside kick was unsuccessfully recovered by the Cougars. The game ended N-V 14 Randolph 20.
