Thoughts and Prayers

Niobrara School Families:

Our thoughts are with the Perry Community in Iowa. Events like these, broadcasted across national and social media platforms, have a heartfelt impact on all of us and bring school safety and security to the forefront of our minds.

Now is the time to engage in conversations with student(s) both in our schools and at home about safety/security, mental health, and where to access support if needed.  A supportive adult who listens and offers guidance and resources is an effective preventive measure when students encounter feelings and situations they may be unsure of how to manage.

Anonymous Reporting is another avenue for students to seek out support and report concerns in schools or at home. Safe2Help NE, now funded permanently by the Nebraska Legislature, offers this free service to schools.  The reports made to the Safe2Help NE system go directly to Boys Town Communication Center Crisis Counselors and are available 24 hours a day to all students at Niobrara Schools.

Niobrara Schools ensures that our school Emergency Operations Plans are up-to-date and that both students and staff are well-versed in the Standard Response Protocol procedures.  We encourage you to take a moment to check in with your child(ren) and review any protocols for emergency or crisis situations.

Niobrara Public Schools values our ongoing partnership with our school families and the communities we serve.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  Take care and stay safe,
