MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING
JANUARY 14, 2019

Chairman Kemp called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. It was noted that LB898 dealing with Open Meeting Laws was duly posted. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
Board Member Matt Moody signed the oath of office.
Motion by Adema and seconded by Holz to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on December 10, 2018. RCV: Adema-aye, Moody-aye, Holz-aye, Klug-aye, Stark-aye, Kemp-aye. Motion approved.
Motion by Holz and seconded by Klug to approve the bills as presented. RCV: Moody-aye, Holz-aye, Klug-aye, Stark-aye, Kemp-aye, Adema-aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Stark and seconded by Klug to approve the financial report. RCV: Moody-aye, Holz-aye, Klug-aye, Stark-aye, Kemp-aye, Adema-aye. Motion carried.
Board Reorganization for the election and appointment of officers was addressed. Chairman Kemp relinquished the chair to Mrs. Sandoz and at this time she called for nominations.
A motion by Stark and seconded by Holz to retain Kemp as Board President. RCV: Holz-aye, Klug-aye, Stark-aye, Kemp-aye, Adema-aye, Moody-aye. Motion carried. President Kemp resumed his chair.
Motion by Kemp and seconded by Klug to retain Stark as Vice President. RCV: RCV: Klug-aye, Stark-aye, Kemp-aye, Adema-aye, Moody-aye, Holz-aye. Motion carried.
President Kemp appointed Orvil Holz as the Secretary for the 2019 Calendar Year.
President Kemp appointed Ward Adema as the Treasurer for the 2019 Calendar Year.
President Kemp appointed the following members to the Transportation Committee: Moody, Stark and Adema.
President Kemp appointed the following members to the Building and Grounds Committee: Moody, Klug and Kemp.
President Kemp appointed the following members to the Negotiations Committee: Stark, Kemp and Holz.
President Kemp appointed the following members to the Instruction and Americanism Committee: Moody, Klug and Adema.
Motion by Stark and seconded by Klug to approve the following authorized signatures and number of signatures required for bank accounts held at Farmers
& Merchants State Bank, Niobrara, Nebraska: RCV: Stark-aye, Kemp-aye, Adema-aye, Moody-aye, Holz-aye, Klug-aye. Motion carried.

Superintendent of Schools, Margaret Sandoz or Business Manager, Susan Hillman are authorized to open any new accounts or close existing accounts at any time.
Comprehensive Support and Improvement in Niobrara Middle was a discussion item.
The first strategic planning report was discussed.
Teacher reports were given by Janell Ruda and Jen Crosley.
Mrs. Angie Guenther gave the Principal’s report.
Mrs. Margaret Sandoz gave Superintendent’s report.
The next meeting is scheduled for February 11,2019 at 7 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:01 p.m.
