MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING

JANUARY 9, 2023

Chairman Moody called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. It was noted that LB898 dealing with Open Meeting Laws was duly posted. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

Motion by Bolling and Seconded by Teadtke to approve the agenda. RCV: Adema-aye, Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved. 

The board recited the Oath of Office.

Motion by Teadtke and seconded by Adema to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on December 13, 2021. RCV: Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved.  

The following bills were presented.

Motion by Bolling and seconded by Teadtke to approve the bills as presented: RCV: Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye, Bolling-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved

The financial report was presented.  Motion by Adema and seconded by Teadtke to approve the financial report. RCV: Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye, Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved.   

Motion by Teadtke and seconded by Bolling to retain Matt Moody as Board President of Niobrara School Board. RCV: Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved.

Motion by Moody and seconded by Teadtke to retain Ward Adema as Vice President of Niobrara School Board. RCV: Adema-aye, Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved. 

Motion by Moody and seconded by Adema to retain Susan Bolling as Secretary of Niobrara School Board. RCV: Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved.  

Motion by Bolling and seconded by Flyinghawk to retain Diane Teadtke as Treasurer of Niobrara School Board. RCV: Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye, Bolling-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved.

Committee Assignments:

Transportation: Moody-Adema-Paulsen 

Negotiations: Flyinghawk, Moody, Teadtke

Building and Grounds: Flyinghawk, Adema, Paulsen

Instruction and Americanism: Bolling, Teadtke, Flyinghawk

Motion by Adema and seconded by Flyinghawk to approve committees as presented. RCV: Adema-aye, Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved. 

Motion by Adema and seconded by Teadtke to approve the signatures and number of signatures for bank accounts as presented held at Farmers & Merchants State Bank, Niobrara, Nebraska. RCV: Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye. Paulsen-absent. Motion Approved.  

Administrative reports were given.

It was consensus to continue work with Carlson West Povondra Architects on the old bus barn remodeling Plan

The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for, February 13, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
