MINUTES OF SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

April 24, 2023

Chairman Moody called the special meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. It was noted that LB898 dealing with Open Meeting Laws was duly posted. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

Motion by Bolling and Seconded by Teadtke to approve the agenda. RCV: Adema-aye, Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Paulsen-aye, Moody-aye. Flyinghawk-absent. Motion Approved. 

Motion by Teadtke and seconded by Bolling to rescind March 13, 2023, approval to purchase the playground equipment from Crouch Recreation utilizing the Kompan state contract AEPA IFB #19.5 B Playground & Recreaton solicitation and AEPA 020-A Athletic Surfaces with Shaw with installation costs. RCV: Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye, Paulsen-nay, Moody-aye, Adema-aye. Flyinghawk-absent. Motion approved.

Motion by Teadtke and seconded by Bolling to purchase the equipment only-exclusive of any construction, remodeling, repair or site improvements—in the amount of $763,668.12 from Crouch Recreation, INC. as presented in  Quote #2543 dated April 12, 2023. RCV: Teadtke-aye, Paulsen-nay, Moody-aye, Adema-nay, Bolling-aye. Flyinghawk-absent. Motion approved.

Motion by Teadtke and seconded by Flyinghawk to authorize Superintendent to prepare bid package and solicit competitive bids for construction, installation and or site improvements for installation of the playground equipment. RCV: Paulsen-Nay, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-Nay, Bolling-aye, Teadtke-aye. Motion approved.

Motion by Flyinghawk and seconded by Adema to approve CDs in the amount of $500,000 each with Bank of Hartington for 16 months and Farmers & Merchants Bank for 24 months. RCV: Paulsen-aye, Flyinghawk-aye, Moody-aye, Adema-aye, Bolling -abstain, Teadtke-aye. Motion approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:43 p.m. The next meetings are scheduled for May 8, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
